Problem: Limestone Countertop Severely Etched
A homeowner in Bethesda, Maryland was preparing to sell her home and considered having her limestone countertop replaced because of the etching, scratches and other damage on its surface. She called the stone experts at Potomac Stonecare.
Our Solution
We used a diamond grinding technique to remove the etching and create a high-gloss finish. Limestone is a beautiful and durable sedimentary stone, but it is somewhat porous and vulnerable to scratches, chips, hard water and acidic stains without proper sealing. Our final step was to apply an impregnating sealer to help protect the surface from future damage and etching.
